  • Chris Carey's Collections provides textile Recycling banks to organisations, Local Authorities, Schools and corporations. Please contact us at boutique@chriscareyscollections.co.uk if you would like some more information.
  • Our company employs over 100 staff, many of our staff are woman.

  • We run many schemes to help local and long term unemployed to get back to work. All our staff recieve training and are encouraged to develop skills.

  • We employ and train "clothing pickers" who separate all the textiles that arrive at the warehouse. We do not use Conveyor Belts as we believe in providing employment for local people.

  • We work with local schools, colleges and governing bodies to educate people young and old on the importance of recycling and the difference it could make.

  • All goods are sorted for remanufacture or export according to customer requirements. The goods are then turned into bales which are shipped worldwide.

  • A lot of the textiles are remanufactured in the UK, many are resold or remanufactured worldwide. This produces employment on a global scale.

  • Our "wellies", are recycled into floor covering, rulers and pencils.

  • Some of the textiles will be sorted and mutilated so that the fibres are ready for re–weaving. This material is then compressed and distributed to companies for remanufacture into wadding, damp proofing and car lining etc.

  • Some goods are purchased by individual dealers looking for specific eras of clothing and accessories.

  • We also retail to the local community where they can pop in, get a great outfit for next to nothing, and even a cup of tea at the end of their shopping trip.

  • The Vintage Boutique is where period clothing and accessories are sold. We have a wide range of vintage and unusual items that are always popular if you are looking for that unique little number.

  • The wardrobe department supplies costumes to theatre, film and television production companies. Wardrobe's contact us in advance and give us an outline of the range of goods needed by them. We then sort the items that we think are suitable and the wardrobe department will then visit our warehouse and pick out the suitable items.

  • As part of the Made In Deptford Festival, each year we organise a fashion show using the recycled clothes. This is in collaboration with Rag N Bone our Vintage Clothing Boutique based at 140 Deptford High Street, Deptford.
